waiting,
I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Winnie-the-Pooh. Alfred E. Neuman (what me worry?) and the ageless Dr. Suess (I do not like green eggs and ham!) reside there as well. IMHO you can plagiarize Milne to your heart's content. But, please don't abandon what you excel at. I have grown quite fond of your and Reds verbal sparring. Stick with what you know.
Your friend and brother,

I read the book before I knew who L. Ron Hubbard was. The book was good, no, very good.
The movie was a disgrace. -

You gotta remember, Princess Bride was all tongue in cheek. I heard the guy who coreographed (sp) the swordfighting interviewed. His career went back to Errol Flynn and he was involved in most of those types of flicks. He said, by far, Princess Bride was his best work. I leave it on my list.
Never saw Mr. Jorden, looks like I'm finding some fodder for my VCR. I definately add "God's must be Crazy I, and II" to my list of favourites, forgot about those.
My list could get quite long. -

Hmmmmm, the NIV (New International Version) is pretty readable but I don't know about the accuracy of the translation. Probably most Bible's can be had in large print. I understand what you mean though. I always liked the big version of the NWT. Easier to focus on what you are reading when you're not fighting to find the next verse.
That's quite an eclectic selection of "reads". I'm in one of my "don't get too many books started at once" phases. I just finished "Cryptonomicon" -Neal Stephenson (fiction re. codebreaking and hacking) and have started "Sailing Alone Around the World" -Captain Joshua Slocum (autobio, he was the 1st to do it in about 1880 I think)

Hello LsweetNC,
The place to go seems to be the Sex/Hello, Hello forum. No, it's not what you may be thinking, but it is an attention grabber. Drop by there and give us a brief bio of yourself. Never mind that I failed to do so, I just kinda splattered myself all over the place. But then I rarely do as I should.

Hi M2U,
Put me down in the "I like it and would like to read more column".
This site has it all. Poetry, short stories, drama, and the succinct bantering of waiting and RHW.
You might want to gather up those poems and head on over to the "starting a band" thread. Never know, you could be the Jim Morrison of the 21st century. -

Hi Struggle,
When I went back to the org. for the second time in my life I was involved in a fairly long term relationship. Well, 2 1/2 years is long term to me. She was intelligent, attractive, well educated. She had very high morals, a great sense of humor, a good job and was in great shape financially. We also were in love with other.
I terminated the relationship when I re-associated myself. I thought it the appropriate thing to do at the time. 1 1/2 years later I drifted away from the org. It took me about 3 or 4 years to stop thinking about her. It's been about 7 years since I dated her. She's married now and I hope she's happy. The only time I think about her now is in my dreams. Kinda hard to control those dreams. I haven't dated in 2 years, just can't seem to find anyone I really like.
I don't know what I would do if I could do it all over. I, like you still feel loyalty to the org.
Both of my parents died while they were fairly young and I still miss them terribly. Seeing them again isn't really what motivates me, though. I just want to do the right thing. I want to please Jah. Sometimes it's difficult to know what that is. I wish I was wiser than I am.
I know there is no help here for you. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone. -

Howdy waiting,
Sorry I missed you last night. Yea, I'm in CA. The US is pretty spread out, it would be nice to know what area's some of you are in. The US should really be split up into a bunch of smaller countries. In fact, three would work. 1. CA, because we are so different than the rest of you 2. Texas, because they are so much better than the rest of us and 3. The rest of you need to stick together. Someone needs to support the overinflated military budget. Who else is able to keep the world safe for Corporations...I mean Democracy. Okay, okay, just kidding. Californians really aren't any different.Melancholy is not my adjective of choice to describe Frenchy's well crafted work. I lean towards contemplative.
Never tried that drug back in those days when I was doing those things. I'm from the San Fernando Valley, CA. We only did organic drugs. That is soooooooo LA! Hmmm, I wonder if it would do me any good.
Yea, talked to Randy. I'll probably go down there this spring and hang out for a bit.
-I never have to ask for directions because I've never been lost. Of course, sometimes I wasn't certain how to get to where I wanted to go. But I have always known exactly where I was.

shunning and family members
by crittersitter ini have 3 sisters still in the org.
is it still called the "org"?
2 of them maintain no contact, one because i'm an evil apostate, the other is two faced about it(nice on the phone 2x a year, but does not let anyone know about the contact) the 3rd is pretty cool about it, we e-mail alot and i call monthly( all live 1200 miles away).

CritterSitter,
That is a sad story. Not all witnessess are like that tho'. I wasn't during the years I was a good boy. I always tried to make eye to eye contact, smile, nod or at least use body language to show that I welcomed their (the dfers') prescence. I usually admired their courage and,if not that, anything else would have been impolite. I never spoke to them, so I wasn't breaking any rules. I made it a point, now that I think about it, to not research my behaviour either to see if it was approved. Maybe I was doing the old hands over my eyes-ears-mouth again.
I always thought I should emulate the god that I worship. The God that I got to know was pretty loving and kind. I wonder who those that you describe are trying to pattern themselves after?
